Te construction industry and services are developing dynamically. Firms specialising in the construction of infrastructure, such as Ekolmel, Inżbud, Flisbud or The Enterprise of Road and Bridges Work (Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Drogowo Mostowych) compete at a national market. Their role as a potential partner or contractor is still growing, being a strong competition for other firms in the region.

WOOD INDUSTRY

The branch having the long tradition in Janów Lubelski is the wood processing, because of the large complex of “Janowskie Forests” The commune is in 60% covered with forest which is the source of high quality wood suitable for producing furniture and packages. The main supplier of wood is the Forest Inspectorate Janów Lubelski logging about 100 thousand cubic meters of material. As far as the area is concerned it is the largest Forest Inspectorate in Poland. The offer is diversified and includes the following species of trees: pine, alder, spruce and oak all in different quality variants. This material is used both by large wood works, producing e.g. furniture, as well as small local sawmills, distributed in the whole territory of the commune.

FOOD INDUSTRY

The branch which has a large potential of growth is food processing. The advantage of the commune in this branch is the high quality of the spring water and ecologically clean grounds, suitable for growing healthy food.

The water in Janów is delicious and has exquisite features, besides it does not need to be conditioned. The values of this water are used b the Brewery of Janów (Browar Janowski) to produce beer. This is one of the last local breweries in Poland. Water, thanks to its high quality, is used also to the production of mineral water and refreshing drinks.

The region of Janów is strongly connected with the groats processing. The growing of buckwheat is the main part of the corn growing in the district of Janów. Many local firms, such as Janex or Eska deal with the processing of the buckwheat. Thanks to the high quality of the products, maintaining the traditional Polish tastes, and at the same time using the modern, highly-efficient technologies of production – the firms meet with the approbation of the clients both in Poland and abroad.

The high quality of the material as well as the layers of spring water is the perfect basis for the further development of the food industry e.g. the production of juices, concentrates or fruit or vegetable mixture.
